Jaba (25) returns to Bangladesh from Lithuania after her father’s death, seeking connection with her past. However, memories have shifted, and her uncle, now mistrustful, thinks she’s back for her father’s properties. The film explores their evolving relationship in a changed time and space.
Akvilė Žilionytė
Akvilė Žilionytė (1987) is a young Lithuanian film director playing with hybrid forms between the fiction and documentary.
She studied linguistics and literature, published two books. In 2018 graduated Master‘s degree in Film Directing at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
Her first short documentary „The daytime is not for me“ (19 min.) premiered in Hamburg International Short Film Festival 2017 and screened in Vienna, Tirana, Vilnius, Riga, Berlin, Bucharest, Istanbul etc.
